Naval Air Systems Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Naval Air Station San Diego, California
Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Critical Structures Maintenance Branch of the F-18 Fleet Support Team of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will be responsible for Logistics and aspects/phases, from Concept Exploration to Disposal, of assigned programs. You will communicate program risk to the F-18 FST Air Vehicle or Avionics Project Team Lead in a timely fashion. You will brief Navy officials regarding program logistics issues and represents FRCSW FST in focus groups, conferences, or program reviews concerned with problems, issues, developments and innovations surrounding logistics management. You will support NAVAIR readiness and sustainment initiatives, seeking opportunities to apply these concepts to assigned program(s) You will review program objectives to identify and correct deficiencies in establishing an integrated logistics support program. You will interpret and understand the planning, implementation, and execution of modification programs and maintenance programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for GS-09 position your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of the methods and techniques utilized in the interpretation and application of the policies and concepts of the broad spectrum of functional logistics management activities related to the logistics support of major Naval Aviation systems. 2) Providing knowledge of the theory, concepts, principles and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management that enables the incumbent to fully appreciate and understand life-cycle support considerations and systems acquisition management. 3) Contributing knowledge of the relationships among design characteristics; support systems and associated total costs of ownership. 4) Advancing concepts, theories, principles and practices of Integrated Product Support (IPS) necessary to create and establish innovative and effective program policies and procedures for aircraft, engines, components support equipment, trainers, and other major systems as required by the U. S. Navy, other DoD activities, and authorized Foreign Military Sales organizations. 5) Comprehensive knowledge of naval aviation maintenance policies and practices and the operating and maintenance environment to which naval aviation systems are exposed. 6) Exercising diplomacy and tact in negotiations, conversations, correspondence, etc., especially, when diverse and opposing points of view, goals or objectives are expressed.
