Responsibilities You will provide engineering support in the field of construction contracts between the organization and private contractors. You will provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects. You must review technical engineering specifications, drawings, and statements of work covering complex and diverse designs for constructability and accuracy. You will apply technical knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods in conjunction with sound judgements. You will maintain extensive contact with key contractor representatives to promote partnership and quickly resolve problems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying Facility Management engineering principles (i.e. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) for the operation, design, construction, and sustainment of industrial and commercial facilities; 2) Presenting designs and plans for facility projects; 3) Analyzing and inspecting facilities to determine design problems and make recommendations to improve its economic efficiency and effectiveness; 4) Utilizing computer software (i.e. AutoCAD, Maximo, WINEST, etc.) to track work orders, facility projects, create reports, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/engineering-technical-series-0802/ AND https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-TECH Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment or Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
