Kidz Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher who is fun, energetic and welcomes a collaborative approach. 

Details about this opportunity:

  • Preschool, Early Intervention Special Instruction and/or Evaluators.

  • Fee for Service, part-time

  • Day, evening, and weekend opportunities available

  • Early Intervention services operate 365 days a year and can be flexibly scheduled

  • Preschool services will follow the school calendar

  • EI Compensation: $64-$75/ hour

  • Preschool Compensation: $55-$60/ Hour

  • Please note this is a range. Rates are determined by service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held

  • Throughout Nassau County, NY

    Responsibilities:

  • Work with students who are in Early Intervention or Preschool Program providing individualized lessons which target goals from the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) / Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

  • Develop creative and multi-sensory lessons based on the IFSP/IEP goals and report progress toward these goals.

  • Collect meaningful information on IEP /IFSP goals and report quarterly on child’s progress with IEP/IFSP goals.

  • Ongoing communication with supervisors and multidisciplinary team.

  • Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing daily.

  • Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice approach and continue personal development.

  • Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals.

  • Attend IEP/IFSP meetings.

    Responsibilities for Evaluations:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations in clinic, home and/or preschool based settings.

  • Write detailed evaluation reports demonstrating the child’s abilities and areas of difficulties.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the evaluation team

  • Develop appropriate functional goals based upon the needs of the student.

    And this background:

  • NYS Students with Disabilities B-Grade 2 Certification

  • Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred

  • Bilingual preferred
