Amazon Sr. AFE Ops Associate, Billing and Payments in Nashville, Tennessee

Amazon’s Freight Operations team is seeking a skilled and motivated AFE Ops Associate to join the Billing and Payments team to assist in the management of document/data required for generating right first time invoicing, manual invoicing processes that produce revenue from third party shippers, verify disputed Proof of Delivery (POD), responds to customer billing inquiries and researches disputed amounts.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team for Amazon. An ideal candidate has a background in transportation and accounts receivables with excellent customer service skills. They have the ability to pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes, and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current systems and processes. This job will require exceptional communication skills while having the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Systemically intake, escalate, and triage billing issues and follow-through to resolution

  • Recognize escalation trends and identify underlying defects and root causes.

  • Support for manual invoicing work streams

  • Meeting your weekly performance target goals

  • Identify billing gaps and track and record updates for preventative measures.

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies by investigating lane defects and rebilling inaccurate invoices.

  • Contact carriers for proof of delivery documentation and process documentation in shipper portals.

  • Continual, tactical communication with external customers (Customers, Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Sales, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).

  • Use excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as you will be required to create a narrative outlining your weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.

  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.

  • Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects in order to drive efficiency in Amazon’s Freight operations.

  • Pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

  • Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results.

  • Ability to scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools we use.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience

  • 1+ years of management experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of Blue Badge Amazon experience
