Amazon is looking for a Senior Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs across multiple verticals. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead complex projects from conception to completion.

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to effectively manage the creation and enhancement of our supply chain and transportation networks. In this role, you will scope large projects, track project timelines, and develop mechanisms for communicating status, risk, and business challenges. The ideal candidate must be adept at cross-team coordination, project management, and data analysis, with a proven history of delivering results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Supply chain, transportation, or logistic network management solution experience

  • Manage and oversee various cross-functional programs, ensuring successful delivery.

  • Develop and refine program strategies, effectively leading and motivating teams.

  • Set clear objectives for programs, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.

  • Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills.

  • Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.

  • Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.

  • Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.

  • Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.

  • Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.

A day in the life

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead business and planning reviews with senior leaders, ensuring alignment and execution of strategic initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain performance and support business growth.

  • Operational Excellence: Create a robust and cost-efficient supply chain, ensuring reliable delivery processes. Drive execution discipline in operations across various stakeholders, including Global Logistics, Brazil Operations, Retail, US Fulfillment Centers, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, and Legal.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize a strong analytical background to make data-driven decisions. Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across different programs. Lead through influence, demonstrating the ability to think broadly and strategically about supply chain initiatives and build consensus among senior leaders.

  • Team Development: As the scope of the role expands and business volumes grow, hire and develop a high-performing team. Provide leadership and mentorship to foster professional growth and ensure team success.

  • Collaboration and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements. Ensure seamless execution of operational strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Travel Requirements: This role may require travel to various Amazon facilities and on-site visits with Carriers and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) based on business needs.

About the team

Global Logistics (GL) is a dynamic team of seasoned logistics professionals, carrier specialists, and program managers dedicated to enhancing Amazon's cross-border logistics. Our goal is to improve cost, speed, and reliability, enabling customers worldwide to access selections from any part of the globe. The Japan & Emerging Country (JP&EC) team manages import operations across seven countries: Japan (JP), Brazil (BR), Australia (AU), Singapore (SG), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia (KSA), and South Africa (ZA), through comprehensive cross-border Business-to-Business programs.

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager for the Americas to join our GL JP&EC team. This individual will be instrumental in refining the cost, speed, and quality of multiple US-sourced programs and managing Destination Operations in Brazil. They will collaborate with Amazon stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) partners in the US and destination countries to develop capabilities, manage projects, and formulate and execute operational strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Knowledge of SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience with Six Sigma/Lean analytical techniques
