Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, AMXL - Strategic Finance in Nashville, Tennessee

Our AMXL Strategic Finance team closely partners across Amazon Retail, Operations and Program teams to support the profitable delivery of Heavy and Bulky product selection from amazon.com to our customers. Key job responsibilities

The AMXL Strategic Finance team seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with the AMXL Retail, Strategy and Operations Teams to drive an agenda of optimization, efficiency and insights across the Heavy Bulky vertical. This role will own full P&L planning and reporting for this high-value segment, acting as a leading voice on trend identification and direction setting for this business. This team provides a unique opportunity to gain true end-to-end exposure of a P&L, overseeing the coordination of initiatives that span across multiple organizations and stakeholders with high visibility to senior leadership. Experience in this team opens up several career opportunities across Amazon and access to making an impact to the broader end-to-end operational vertical.

A day in the life

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Superior planning and financial modelling skills, with a high comfort level utilizing query-based data via SQL.

  • An ability to support business owners through thoughtful decision-making;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate the story and drivers behind the numbers.

  • An ability to prioritize the most impactful projects and programs.

A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate through creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying high-priority trends and insights that lead to cost-optimization or growth projects designed to improve cost to serve and broader profitability for AMXL.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proficiency utilizing SQL to query and join disparate data sets.

  • 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate the story and drivers behind the numbers.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
