Job Summary and Qualifications

The Senior Pharmacy Benefit Account Manager (AM) serves as the principle liaison with small to medium HealthTrust and CoreTrust PBM member companies. The AM establishes and maintains professional business relationships with member companies, their consulting teams, and the PBM supplier partner. The AM serves as a trusted advisor to the member(s) s/he supports, engaging member executives regularly ensuring the PBM supplier partner is delivering on all services in accordance with the contract. The AM has leadership responsibility to develop and maintain a robust account plan, and executing against that plan to identify opportunities for his/her accounts to improve operational and financial performance. The AM effectively utilizes various data and analytics tools and reports to analyze and present key opportunities to the member(s) s/he supports, as well as summarizing and presenting savings results and other key information to the member(s). The AM works to coordinate the PBM supplier resources to ensure that members are supported as effectively as possible, experiencing superior service that results in member loyalty and retention, as well as advocacy and promotion to prospective members. This position can be office-based or WFH.

Position may require up to 25% travel, including overnight travel.

What you will do in this role includes:

  • Formulates and leads as one point of contact for cross-business unit strategies and plans for member.

  • Move strategic customers from current state to a trusted strategic partnership; formalize partnership through an agreement that is recognized across HealthTrust and the account.

  • Meets member specific targets for contract performance, trend management, savings and strategic objectives.

  • Establishes productive, professional and consultative relationships with key benefit contact throughout member organization, building credibility and trust through collaboration.

  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary HealthTrust, Coalition Consultant and PBM supplier personnel.

  • Builds strategic partnerships with the member company and their consulting team to further advance the employee benefit strategic plan and company goals.

  • Establishes strong relationships with key internal HealthTrust and CoreTrust Account Directors and Managers, and Clinical Resources within HealthTrust to become a trusted advisor

  • Keeps the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action.

  • Develop custom utilization management strategies to enhance clinical reviews

  • Review claims data to identify specific drug utilization trends and develop clinical strategies to mitigate impact and drive savings.

  • Provide client implementation support and guidance

  • Review and evaluate changes in formulary strategy including exclusions and tier changes

What qualifications you will need:

  • Accredited College Pharmacy Degree required

  • Minimum 3+ years of strategic account management experience with a pharmacy benefit manager and/or a large employee benefit consulting firm with a focus on pharmacy benefit and/or a senior benefit professional at a large company

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Consulting experience a plus

  • Registered pharmacist
