As a learning & development (L&D) manager, you will be a crucial leader in the Q&C Learning team

  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, curate, and deliver democratized learning solutions to support the advancement of skills for Q&C employees across the globe

  • Develops learning strategies to meet business needs, manages the instructional design process and designs content for learning programs.

  • Provide direction on the instructional design strategy and prioritizes learning needs for the organization.

  • Responsible for the content governance, content architecture, and L&D content strategy

  • Leverages, promotes and deploys programs that are developed to support corporate initiatives and strategic skills development.

  • Conducts research on technologies, instructional design techniques, and innovative learning solutions.

  • Performs quality reviews for learning programs and ensures standards and outcomes are met.

  • Reviews infographics, print, and digital templates for learning solutions and assesses appropriateness for targeted audience

  • Drive integration of Q&C learning technology systems with J&J’s enterprise technology solutions.

  • Oversee the measurement and evaluation of learning programs and makes modifications based on business trends.

Responsibilities:

Learning Development

  • Manage design, develop and implement scalable professional curriculum to deliver Q&C Learning Capabilities

  • Produce learning experience through an array of learning modalities (eLearning, face-to-face, VILT, video, etc.) based on learner-centric approach to support performance and drive business outcomes

  • Apply graphic design skills using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, Camtasia

  • Advise Leadership of learning program status as well as trends in the program effectiveness, and recommends responses and solutions based on sound analysis and frequent monitoring

  • Define learning objectives and partner with instructional designers

  • Guide stakeholders on best practices and industry leading standards on performance consulting services and strategic management of learning experience programs across the Portfolio for consistent quality outcomes

  • Identify and recommend synergies across all learning pillars to maximize resources, learning experience and customer value.

  • Identify connections and synergies across development capability areas and support the creation of processes and operational excellence within the team

  • Closely collaborate with stakeholders to understand key business priorities to develop impactful learning solutions that drive competitiveness and business growth

  • Stay current on J&J Learn (enterprise learning team) strategic direction

Content build in learning development technical environments

  • Design processes, standards, templates, and best practices including managing translations for learning development

  • Apply content development and learning standards and end-to-end processes to create learning materials in a timely manner.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest learning design and development trends and technologies to apply innovative and modern development tools / techniques to develop learning solutions / materials

  • Collaborate with Learning Architects and other key stakeholders (SMEs, Program Owners, Business Partners) as needed to understand learning solution architecture, objectives, approval process and timeline, and other deployment requirements to translate them into delightful learning solutions

  • Administer the learning content platform (Xyleme LCMS) that supports the enterprise learning Ecosystem (ex: J&J Learn, NovoEd)

  • Serve as point of escalation for support issues by working with others to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

  • Evaluate new tools & technologies for business learning applications

Monitor Learning metrics & analytics

  • Preserve the integrity of the learning programs from inception to final materials and use data for post-delivery enhancements

  • Generate and analyze reports from the learning technology platforms.

  • Coach and educate partners and peers evaluations, reports, and learning effectiveness

Qualifications

Required

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required

  • 6 years of industry experience required.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment

  • Strong understanding of learning and development

  • Experience with authoring Tools and Learning Technologies (LMS, LCMS, content development)

  • Experience in Adult Learning and Instructional Design

  • Skilled use of ADDIE learning model to create effective learning experiences

  • Proficient in web programming languages: HTML, XML, CSS, or Sass

  • Experience with an array of learning modalities and solutions to develop learning interventions based on learner-centric approach (face-to-face, VILT, video, programmatic, etc.).

  • Strong multimedia and graphic design skills: Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, Camtasia.

  • Customer- and learner-centric thinking approach

  • Experience in Communication and Change Management

Preferred

  • Video/Sound editing and production

  • Versed in strategies for creating and managing reusable content objects within a content management system. (Xyleme)

  • Versed in strategies for content curation and channel strategy within a learning experience platform (EdCast)

  • Providing input into estimates to create and deliver learning materials and proactively flag risks and/or key dependencies to relevant stakeholders.

  • Understanding of Global Job Architecture and Fuel 50 Skills

  • Cornerstone LMS (SUMMIT) experience

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail.

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and influencing skills are required.

  • Capable of building strong partnerships across segments & regions, acting as the mediator between organizations while optimizing the value proposition

  • Ability to lead with strong collaboration and influence management skills to partner effectively at all levels with limited authority and ability to negotiate trade off decisions across the organization

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $172,500

For Bay Area candidates, The base pay range for this position is $114,000 - $197,800

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
