Job Summary and Qualifications

This position oversees and coordinates efforts within the Accelerated Technologies- Innovation (AT-I) team to develop Patient 360 data product, its associated features, and other custom applications that support HCA’s clinical and revenue cycle objectives, including but not limited to Patient 360. This position leads and teams of software developers, business and product analysts, and data engineers, ensuring that software products meet quality standards, adhere to best practices, and align with business objectives. This position oversees a team of full time and contract staff to complete multiple development efforts in parallel.

Major Responsibilities:

Personnel Management

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Establish and drive execution of area goals and work priorities

  • Estimate required resource allocations to various efforts, and approve timesheets

  • Mentor staff on growth opportunities and complete performance reviews

  • Recruit and hire developers, engineers, and analysts within the functional area

  • Oversee onshore and offshore contract resources

Project Planning & Execution

  • Collaborates with Idea Accelerator team and stakeholders to understand project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Develop project plans, create budgets and required resources, and set realistic timelines.

  • Coordinates the scoping and generation of business cases

  • Monitor progress, identify risks, identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee communication to end users and business groups regarding release schedules and scope

Product Development Management

  • Responsible for development product roadmap for Patient 360 and associated applications

  • Manage the end-to-end software development process, ensuring adherence to coding standards, testing, and deployment procedures

  • Oversee product defect tracking and resolution to ensure optimal software quality during development through hypercare

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

  • Review code, architecture, and design to ensure quality and scalability, and provide technical guidance to team members

Other

  • Works closely with AT-I Directors, Development Manager, Technical Lead, all technology solutions areas, and project managers to ensure department, business, and project goals are achieved

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field required

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in software development, including hands-on coding required

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
