Job Summary and Qualifications
The Product Owner for Human Resources (HR) is responsible for leading and setting the strategic direction and priorities of a cross-functional talent team in close partnership with the business, with a particular focus on talent acquisition and recruitment. This position will lead the day-to-day operations of a talent team for a specific organization within HCA. The role will assess and ensure best practices and processes are utilized. The Product Owner will oversee the talent team, prioritizing the needs of key stakeholders, and embracing an experimental, innovative approach to meet evolving business needs. The Product Owner is a key player in aligning talent acquisition strategies with other talent priorities (i.e. learning, development, compensation) and the organization’s broader strategic goals, driving the transformation of the company’s recruitment processes, and ensuring high-quality hires that support business growth.
What you will do in this role:
Strategic Leadership: Assist in defining and drive the strategic vision for the talent team, focusing on talent acquisition, upskilling resources, and outsourcing strategies to meet both short-term and long-term business goals.
Prioritization: Act as the lead for HR talent team, prioritizing talent needs in alignment with organizational priorities. Collaborate with the HR Transformation Lead (VP) to ensure talent strategies support company-wide strategic objectives.
Innovation and Experimentation: Lead efforts in embracing innovative recruitment strategies and ways of working, applying an experimental approach to continuously improve talent acquisition processes and practices.
Talent Recruitment and Management: Develop a holistic vision for digital talent recruitment, ensuring that recruiting efforts are focused on meeting the evolving talent needs of the organization. Influence and guide hiring managers to hire faster and more effectively, ensuring a high-quality candidate pool. Connect hiring processes to candidate onboarding and other talent management priorities such as learning and development.
Accountability for Results: Oversee and manage the results of the talent team against goals, maintain budget, and quality of the talent hiring process, ensuring that recruitment efforts align with departmental goals and organizational objectives.
Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams, including talent management and other HR functions, to share insights, scale best practices, and drive improvements in talent acquisition and management.
Foundation Building: Create the infrastructure and foundation for future tech talent recruiting and management, ensuring the organization is equipped to meet future talent needs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that recruitment and talent management processes align with those requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate recruitment processes and outcomes, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring that the talent team continually adapts to changes in the market and business needs.
Counsels and advises recruiters and hiring managers in job offer details to hiring managers, including experience ratings and research on internal equity and candidate selection decision-making meetings
Researches, analyzes, synthesizes, and presents recruiting metrics to identify trends and develop strategy
Support the development and execution of event and local marketing strategies as a component of overall talent acquisition strategy including attending job fairs, conferences, on-campus and other special events. Maintains memberships in / rapport with professional associations.
Maintains knowledge of talent acquisition and HR systems as well as emerging technology to stay abreast of innovative sourcing trends and best recruiting practices
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor's Degree Required
1+ years (s) of experience in leadership Preferred
5+ years of experience in Human Resources required
Talent acquisition experience preferred
