Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities

  • Daily execution of workflow and department metrics

  • Transfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry system

  • Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations

  • Guarantee compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external

  • Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies

  • Understand all elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer´s instructions and expectations

  • Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Seek ways to enhance productivity, KPI’s, process improvements, compliance and customer satisfaction

  • Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up

  • Consistently display and promote the company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and Visionary

  • Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.  We hire for attitude and train for skill.

  • Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation is a plus

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

  • Understanding of the importance of quality customer service and its effect on all facets of a successful business and brand

  • Proactive and organized approach to learning and executing on the job

  • Strong desire to learn

  • Sense of urgency and works well under pressure

  • Immense attention to detail

  • Team player mentality

  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)

  • Able to use the 10-key

  • Fluent in English
