Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Services Group (CSG) is responsible for the development, maintenance, optimization, and implementation of HCA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) program as well as the expansion of business processes and performance related to HCA's strategic goals.

This position serves as a Consulting Clinical Informaticist on the CSG Clinical Informatics (CI) team. The Clinical Informatics team provides direction and oversight for the standard clinical content and utilization of the EHR in the provider and nursing domains across HCA’s suite of inpatient EHRs and supporting technologies.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•Works closely with the Clinical Informatics and with partners across CSG in the development and continuous optimization of the EHR systems

•Creates/supports clinical and technical workflow analysis and mapping

•Collaborates with multiple CSG, PSG, ITG, OSG and divisional business owners for strategic planning, needs analysis, requirements, design, development selection, testing, implementation and evaluation of systems

•Drives escalation and resolution of issues identified that may impact the expected outcomes, plan, or clinical workflow processes

•Ensures the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes

•Facilitates bi-directional communication with the divisions/facilities and Clinical Informatics team(s)

•Drives the analysis and impact of outcomes

•Participates in formal and informal presentations to business owners and key stakeholders

•Supports professional development of self and others through mentoring and ongoing professional development activities

•Creates and provides clear and effective communication to executive teams and other stakeholders, both written and verbal

•Utilizes assessment tools to facilitate problem solving

•Ensures the HCA Mission and values are the cornerstone of work efforts, and delivered through a servant leadership model

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

•Master’s degree in Nursing (completed or pursuing) or Healthcare equivalent preferred

•Three to five years of clinical informatics or analytics experience

•Travel may be required approximately 10%

•Commanding knowledge and experience caring for the inpatient population and/or clinical informatics

•Manage multiple tasks with multiple owners at one time

•Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point

•High degree of flexibility required

•Strong organizational skills

•Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

•Ability to work and participate in a collaborative team environment within and across departments

•Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong analysis/problem solving and critical thinking
