Jacobs Civil Aviation Engineer in Nashville, Tennessee
Our Southeast team is experiencing exciting local growth within our established practice and we have a need for a Civil Aviation Engineer. Based out of our Nashville, Tennessee office, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of aviation design projects, including airfield and apron improvements, grading and drainage, wastewater treatment and processes, landside roadway and parking improvements, and other miscellaneous airport projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a project team, under the supervision of senior staff and/or a project manager, to produce quality design deliverables in the form of drawings, specifications, technical reports, exhibits, or other formats
• Interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, drainage, structural, etc.) and evaluate design options for client-oriented goals and best industry practices
• Perform design calculations, computer modeling, and drafting in industry-standard design software platforms
• Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in your discipline group
• Provide resident engineering services to include construction quality, acceptance testing and construction management activities. Such activities may also include the review of drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and other engineers or architects
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Registered professional engineer (PE) or ability to sit for exam within one year of hire
• Previous experience with design software packages, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Storm and Sanitary, and/or Microstation
• Proficient in primary Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Previous experience on aviation-related projects
• Flexibility to work on projects to support Nashville and other regional offices
• Enthusiasm for professional and personal growth
