Hyatt Area Senior Sales Manager- Entertainment & Sports in NASHVILLE, Tennessee

· Assist DOSM and sales team to drive awareness, secure key target accounts and generate new business opportunities to position the property as the “premier luxury lifestyle hotel” in the marketplace

· Demonstrate expert knowledge and “book of business” in the Entertainment, Fashion, Media, and Sports teams or related business.

· Assist the Director of Sales in the establishment of annual sales goals, preparation of budget and marketing plan and meet or exceed the annual sales goals, including sales activity production guidelines.

· Develop expert knowledge of the hotel’s product positioning in marketplace, seasonality,pricing strategies and master the competitive advantages to the hotel’s primary/aspirational competitive sets

· Adhere to the hotel’s sales guideline and room revenue budget to book profitable business corresponding to the hotel’s revenue strategy and during designated need periods

· Demonstrate strong sales knowledge in stellar account management including prospecting, telemarketing, negotiating skills, and closing sales techniques while conducting outside sales calls, site inspections, tradeshow, events and presentations.

· Demonstrate expert knowledge throughout RFP season adhering to rate guidelines and utilizing A360 tools/systems to identify new business opportunities via accounts and agencies to drive revenue

· Comply with company sales reporting standards using Delphi

FDC, and all other company sales, reservation, distribution systems. Prepare pre-trip and post-trip reporting of any travel and tradeshow related activities

· Participate in monthly sales department and weekly revenue and strategy meetings

· Demonstrate strong negotiating skills in a professional, business-like manner to maximize profitability of hotel’s performance

· Develop, implement and execute sales strategies in a quarterly action plans to impact existing key accounts, target accounts and the development of new business opportunities within assigned market segments.

· Identify and qualify the market for major room night demand generators, developing effective strategies with the Director of Sales & Marketing consistent with the hotel’s sales and marketing plan. Cultivate authentic business relationships and identify new business opportunities in backyard and feeder markets to maintain a competitive edge

· Act as a strong and reliable resource for the Director of Sales & Marketing and sales team in suggesting strategies and tactics for respective markets in the annual business plan.

· Demonstrate leadership in timely execution of specific assignments.

· Develop professional selling skills through participation in prescribed training programs as directed.

· Maintain positive relations and high visibility in relative business organizations such as Tour Connection, NCVC, and local associations.

· Maintain realistic working relationships with competitive sales representatives in primary and aspirational sets to ensure referrals and co-op bidding.

Qualifications:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodations.

  1. Minimum five years sales experience in a lifestyle/luxury boutique hotel, Entertainment experience preferred

  2. General knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors affecting supply and demand

  3. Skilled in development of cultivating authentic business relationships with experience in particular with the entertainment segment including Sports.

  4. Ability to interact with internal and external customers and staff, collect accurate information and to resolve conflicts using solution-oriented skills

  5. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.

  6. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

  7. Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.

  8. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.

  9. Ability to work flexible schedules to include AM, PM and/or weekends to host client entertainment and FAM trips as well as travel to trade shows

  10. Computer knowledge in Windows program and previous experience with PM Opera, as well as sales systems. Hyatt Systems preferred
