BAE Systems F-35 Production Chief Engineer in Nashua, New Hampshire
Job Description
Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking for a F-35 Block-4 Production Chief Engineer to work as and lead a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to deliver the next generation Electronic Warfare (EW) system for the F-35. This role includes collaborating across the Block 4 Development and Production teams to ensure a successful transition-to-production (TTP) and cut-in of Block 4 EW hardware into F-35 production. As the F35 Block 4 Production Chief Engineer you will be responsible for supporting Block 4 Hardware and Test development, ramp-to-rate activities, Block 4 production technical oversight, primary production customer interface, and oversight for resolution of technical issues in the F-35 production supply chain, BAE factories, and production returns. As F-35 Production Chief Engineer responsibilities may include:
Technical authority for Block 4 upgrades, transition-to-production (TTP), and production issues.
Technical oversight of multi-disciplinary engineering production support team.
Technical lead for Block 4 and future Block upgrades TTP including TTP roadmaps (e.g. test time reduction, specification allocations, design, and process stability) and technical support for Block 4 and future Block upgrade RTG plans, production non-recurring, HW development and ITE development.
Leads and/or supports the following engineering functions:
Root cause/corrective action investigations for major program technical issues
Development and implementation of all specification change activity
Change management activities to ensure maintenance of technical baseline in production.
Interface with development teams and SMEs on new product development and production team technical needs.
Supports proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating and presentation activities.
Preparation and delivery of customer and BAE internal technical presentations.
Will have extensive outside contact with customers, other contractors, and government officials.
Support to factory operations to ensure on time delivery of the highest quality products.
This position will require you to be onsite in Nashua NH or Manchester NH on a part time basis. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility on a hybrid basis or at least 50% of your time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of:
12 Years with BS
10 Years with MS
8 Year with PHD
Possess an Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex production programs.
Firm understanding of production processes and documentation needs (i.e. MRB, SDL, ESS, and ATP procedures)
Expertise in RF and Digital System Architectures
Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading, and working with a team on root cause and corrective action process, and presentations.
Understanding of systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test, full scale production) with a focus on the tail end of production.
Experience working production programs, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 13 years of experience or Ph.D. with 11 years of experience.
Project/Program team member responsible for workflow, which is dynamic in nature.
Experience with EW and/or Radar and Missile Systems
Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
Active United States security clearance, SAP Eligible
Sustainment phase experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
