Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Exercise and Experimentation Planner to support US Sixth Fleet (C6F). The ideal candidate is someone willing to relocate or who already resides in Naples, Italy. The Exercise and Experimentation Planner supports the TF66 Commander and Staff with planning to support exercises and experimentation with uncrewed systems.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Provide expertise in system engineering and platform analysis for Joint and Navy planning to support Autonomous system capability development effort
• Develop applications using technologies and interfaces enabled by robotics, autonomy, AI, UxS, systems engineering
• Perform analysis of uncrewed system applications for use in Allied, Joint, Combatant Commander (CCMD), Fleet Commander and Numbered Fleet operational, training, exercise and experimentation events.
• Design and incorporate tactics, techniques and procedures compatible with joint and allied doctrine, operations, and command and control (C2) for use within US and Allied constructs
• Serve as a staff officer and planner
• Support planning the integration of uncrewed systems into experiments, exercises, and operations as directed.
• Provide direct support operations, experiment, and exercise planning in Navy, Joint, NATO, and other coalition environments.
• Conduct Navy planning in support of assigned tasks in support of the theater’s uncrewed effort.
• Travel as directed to support Navy, Joint, and NATO exercise programs.
• Prepare Flag level briefs, white papers, and other documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Working level knowledge and skill of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software. Experience working within an MS Windows environment. Experience working with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and use of the Internet.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Professional communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in writing and editing skills to include text organization, style editing, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
• Active SECRET clearance required
Physical Requirements
• Work environment is a modern office physically located at Building C41, U.S. Naval Support Activity, Naples, Italy. Work is performed indoors while living in a low to medium terrorist threat environment with some potential risks to safety and health hazards related to electronics. Some travel required.
