Actalent Laboratory Technician in Naperville, Illinois
Hours: M-F, 8 Hours / day, 8 AM – 5 PM with an hour for lunch
Job Description
Helping to develop the company’s scale control product line by running mineral precipitation reactions. Responsibilities include calculating and performing dilutions, pipetting solutions, setting up reactions, making observations, and analyzing results by running atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA).
Assist scientists in performing mineral flotation experiments. Responsibilities include grinding ore, pressing pellets, acid digestion, performing gravimetric analysis, and running x-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for moderately complex but routine tasks and analytical instrumentation, such as those mentioned above, and work independently once trained.
Maintaining a neat and organized lab environment by cleaning glassware and instrumentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Using Excel to organize experimental data and send reports to scientists.
