JOB DOES NOT START UNTIL March 1, 2025.APPLICANT SHOULD RECEIVE A COPY OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB REFERRAL BEFORE CALLING EMPLOYER CONTACT. All workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from 03/01/2025 to 12/01/2025. Workers will assist in the production of row crops. May also prepare barns and land, do maintenance of tools and equipment related to job. Worker should be able to bend, stoop and stand on their feet for long periods of time.Planting, Cultivating, & Harvesting Row Crops: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, etc. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant / cultivate crop. Perform variety of other duties such as husking and shelling corn, lubricating and repairing farm machinery and unloading grain onto conveyors to storage bins and elevators. Attach implements such as disc mower, hay rake, hay baler, and drive tractor to harvest hay. Assist in hooking up wagons/trailers to moving hay to designated locations for storage. Workers will assist in feeding, vaccinating and tagging cattle as well as assist in calving if needed and weaning, perform pasture maintenance and weed management; move cattle between pastures on rotational grazing; calve heifers and cows, treat sick cattle; supplement cow and calf diet with feed, mineral, nutrients. Bottle feed calves if needed. Operate tractor to move and spread manure. Feed sheep, assist in vaccinating, cleaning and trimming hooves, birthing of lambs, bottle feed lambs rejects by ewe, ensuring shelter is clean, assist with shearing. Workers till and prepare fields for in planting pumpkins. Seeding may be by hand, workers will walk rows of soil mounds and drop seeds and cover with dirt. Irrigate cultivate/fertilizer and rotate as needed to insure proper growth and roundness. Workers will assist in set-up of product for sale of crop. Alternative Work; General farm maintenance and other duties as required in the farming operation maintenance. Includes, but not limited to, preparing barns, draining fields, preparing land for planting, maintenance of tools & equipment, and other work as directly related to the crop activities for which the worker is hired. Also includes fixing, clearing, mowing, weed eating and painting of fences / barns. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities listed above and only after the first week guarantee is met.
