Medtronic Senior PD Project Management Specialist in Nanakramguda, India

A Day in the Life

The individual will work closely with the cross-functional project teams in MEIC and GBUs. Individual will lead Medium to high complexity breakthrough Software development projects through existing products improvements or new features implementation. This position will play a vital role in growing business engagements & enabling value add through process improvements and adopting best practices.

  • Performs duties as the leader of the project team.

  • Develop and execute master project and engagement plans including schedules, budgets, and resources

  • Accelerate and develop well-functioning Agile teams by facilitating daily Scrums, backlog refinement, identification of risks and ensuring teams are communicating with each other and enabled to own their commitments

  • Responsible for facilitating the scrum process on scrum teams with cross-functional impacts that involve moderately complex project, non-project, or maintenance work.

  • Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their ‘Scrum Maturity’, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance.

  • Proactively addresses systemic impediments to team agility and guides the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers.

  • Coaches scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met.

  • Ensures conformance to design controls requirements per quality system.

  • Define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers

  • Plan, coordinate, track, communicate project activities / status

  • Management of project budget and oversight of capital expenditures

  • Develop and monitor risk mitigations plans to ensure business and project objectives are met

  • Challenge functional groups to meet project goals and commitments

  • Provide routine project status communications to project team, management and stake holders

  • Ensure communication across MEIC and Global Business Units.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with 4+ years in project leadership role

  • Hands on experience in Agile methodology is essential.

  • Good to have project experience in enterprise software development project / mobile / Cloud application

  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations (820.30 design controls), European Regulatory Requirements (ISO 13485), and specifically IEC-62304.

  • Project management skills

  • Track record of managing projects to schedule, Budget and scope

  • Knowledge about burn down and burnup metrics, velocity, and user stories etc.

  • Good hands on experience using Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Visio, Jira, Confluence)

  • Experience with Industry standard Project Management methodologies, frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or SDLC), and processes

  • Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills including evidence of managing multi-discipline teams

  • Ability to effectively handle conflict through proactive action, and direct and timely communication

  • Experience in managing teams with a diverse cultural background

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ensure that the Project Design History File is current and accurate and manage documentation and communication needs for the project, ensuring all regulatory standards are met (e.g. project SharePoint).

  • Support Core Team meetings by preparing the agenda, project updates, taking meeting minutes.

  • Effective planning and organization skills including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously

  • Prepare audience specific reports and communications

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Education

  • Bachelor in Engineering/ B TECH Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering field

  • PMP certification & Certified ScrumMaster.
