The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform various administrative support, technical accounts processing, and financial recording duties. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work required that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the department directors, staff, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.

Maintains financial files per established policies and procedures and generates financial reports and other related documents at specified time intervals as directed.\ Performs data entry for utility billing, including setting up new accounts; maintaining name and address records; processing trash charges, special readings, and billing adjustments; uploading and downloading readings to and from handheld meter reading devices; and maintaining rate changes in the computer system. Processes billing for utilities, including coordinating meter readers and billing staff to meet deadlines and printing consumption proof, trial balance, trial billing register, billing register, and bills.\ Bills Industrial Sewer monthly.\ Bills Capacity Optimization agreement for the wastewater department monthly.\ Performs clerical functions as required, including but not limited to answering phones and patrons\' questions regarding detailed programmatic knowledge of departmental operations and preparing correspondence.\ Assumes responsibility for other duties as required or assigned.\ Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions.\ Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.\ Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.\ Responds to citizens\' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.\ Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.\ Is punctual and timely in meeting requirements of performance, including attendance standards and work deadlines. Communicates information and states concerns clearly and professionally.\ Respect the opinions of others and demonstrate a reasonable relationship with employees, supervisors, and others.\ Accepts and performs in a timely and effective manner changes in work assignments and/or how work is performed\ \ ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:\ May perform other duties as assigned.\ \ WHAT YOU WILL BRING\ REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:\ High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required\ 1 plus years of experience in Related Accounting or Bookkeeping or any combination of experience and training that provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.\ Ability to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks and the ability and willingness to quickly learn and use new skill and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.\ Ability to use a 10-key Copy/Fax Machine and other office machines as needed.
