onsemi Staff Engineer, External Manufacturing in Muntinlupa, Philippines
This position will be based in Philippine and report to External Manufacturing Operation Manager.
The Staff Operation Engineer will be responsible for the management and development of the external subcontractors assigned to achieve the highest possible performance in the areas of quality, cost, delivery and technology.
This role will demand teamwork with internal Engineering teams, Quality team, Planning team, NPI and Package Development and partnership with subcontractors to reduce overall cost of ownership including but not limited to the following
• Manage the supplier development process to safeguard requirements, planning, cost and compliance to process or product specifications
• Drive manufacturing operational readiness in subcontractors to support production ramp or sudden surge in customer demand
• Proactively identify and eliminate process bottlenecks or production risks and drive value stream process to shorten process cycle time and reduction in WIP
• Brainstorm improvement activities with the subcontractors to meet assembly or test yield targets
• Promote value engineering activities in subcontractors to meet lowest possible cost of ownership
• Assist in internal and external customer feedback reviews and help to implement products and process improvements
• Support and work with subcontractors on reviewing and implementing change management / process
• Resolve any operational issue which arises in subcons
Additional specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following
• Hold and chair weekly governance meeting with subcontractors to drive improvement activities to meet targets
• Work with NPI / Package Development team to support first time qual and time to market
