Boehringer Ingelheim Specialist, Tax Services (Mandarin) in Muntinlupa, Philippines

The Position

The Specialist, Tax Services will accompany the BI global business partners in their tax declaration obligations (e.g. CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting) and specific issues within the scope of the respective country responsibility as a point of contact between different organizations within Global Business Services and Corporate Tax. The position holder will also gather, reconcile, and validate the data required for tax filings. Further, this person will be responsible for preparing tax declarations for BI entities in multiple countries (e.g., advance returns, recapitulative statements).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data gathering (i.e. for CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting, etc.) from different data sources for the preparation of different tax returns and other fiscal reports within the country responsibility.

  • Ensure completeness and correctness of all gathered data. Reconciliation and validation of gathered data and initiate changes, if necessary (for example in case of inconsistencies).

  • Coordinate all tax-related change activities and postings in line with the business service organization and ensure that all steps are finalized in time and quality.

  • Ensure high-quality preparation of tax returns (i.e. CIT, WHT, VAT, etc.) and other fiscal reports within the statutory deadlines for subsidiaries in multiple countries. This includes evaluation of data, solution design (e.g. design of preventive and detective controls) andcorrective actions (if necessary) and documentation (e.g. tax issue files/reports/assessment notices), and archiving of related issue files.

  • Coordination and support of internal and external stakeholders regarding all tax-related requests. This includes a close coordination with various functions (The Corporate Tax Function as well as other within GBS or globally) and a handling of specific questions, requirements, and/or issues within the country responsibility.

  • Representation of other colleagues in case of absence (e.g. sickness, vacation)

  • Preparation and performance of internal and external training for tax topics within the country responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Taxation or similar

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in a tax consulting firm or a comparable position of an internationally operating company preferably in a shared service setup.

  • High affinity for systems landscapes like MS Office (especially MS Excel), SAP-FI/SAP S/4 HANA

  • Above average expertise in the traditional Chinese language (Mandarin) and business fluency in English.

  • Excellent communication and intercultural skills

  • Team player with strong analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills as well as an independent way of working
