We are looking for someone with a passion for code and technology, experienced working with customers, to join the Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) Global ISV team in Central Europe. Our CSE mission is to enable high-impact organizations and developer communities to achieve more and drive the value of our intelligent cloud and edge.

The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) Global ISV team partners with top ISVs from around the world to solve some of their toughest engineering challenges. We work with the Global ISV partners to integrate their solutions with Microsoft Azure platform and help transform their business.

The role is based at one of Microsoft offices across Europe, and while you will need to spend some time in the office, you will also do some travelling to events and customers sites across Europe. We embrace flexible working as a core principle and you’ll be welcome to work from home, our offices around the area, customer sites or your favorite coffee shop next to the gym – wherever is best for you to get your job done.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To deliver on this mission, our Global ISV team engages with partners on direct engineering collaborations to create scalable, resilient and commercially viable software solutions for the Microsoft Azure platform, enabling a rich ecosystem of third party offerings. We are looking for a software engineer who can help drive success by working with the top ISVs in this space. The job requires Minimum 25% travel, incl. International travel.

This candidate will be responsible for:

-Developing deep, trusted advisor relationships with Global ISVs to drive their efforts around Microsoft Azure integration.

-Collaborating with business & technology leaders across Microsoft's One Commercial Partner (OCP), Growth + Ecosystem (G+E), Azure Engineering and Microsoft Field teams to help drive the success of Azure ecosystem.

-Identifying opportunities and paving the way (with architecture and code patterns) to unlock new technical and business opportunities for partners and accelerate their success on Microsoft platforms.

-Working collaboratively with peers across CSE & Microsoft Engineering to manage and guide our engineering process, with a focus on continuously improving quality, engineering productivity, and responsiveness.

-Engaging with Microsoft's product team engineers to provide feedback and influence product roadmap and direction.

Sharing expertise with customers, partners, and communities worldwide.

Qualifications

KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Track record of working as a software developer.

Examples of the kinds of technical skills that would be great for the role:

  • Experience in one or more modern development languages like C#, R, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.

  • Must have experience on public cloud. It could be Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Service or Goggle Cloud Engine.

  • Experience in an area of distributed cloud computing; Cloud Connectivity, Cloud Scale compute, Containers, Serverless, High-scale data system, Machine learning / Artificial intelligence.

KEY PERSONAL QUALITIES

-Minimum 3 years of experience as a software engineer, and a sincere desire to collaborate across the company.

-A deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging trends with deep relevant experience with one of the public cloud platforms.

-Demonstrated deep technical development expertise and solid engineering fundamentals.

-Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic.

-Exceptional decision-making skills, conflict resolution, and follow through.

-Excellent communication, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills.

-Proven experience working with ISVs, partners or customers. Including a deep understanding of how to interact with and contribute to their business.

  • Able to creatively communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to people with or without a technical background.

-BS/BA degree in Computer Science preferred.

  • Fluency in English
