About Us : Siemens Bank GmbH is a leading financial institution headquartered in Munich, actively involved in providing structured debt finance across European, Middle Eastern, African, and Asia-Australian regions. Our Project and Structured Finance Debt-EA (SFS PS-EA) Business Unit specializes in identifying, structuring, arranging, and lending to project finance transactions across Europe, contributing to our best-in-class position in project finance.

Job Overview : As the Head of Project Finance (f/m/d) Risk Management for Europe, you will play a pivotal role in leading our project finance team responsible for the region Europe (excl. UK), driving business growth, and ensuring business within the risk appetite. The role will be based in Munich. Reporting to the Head of Project Finance Risk Management EMEA, you will be responsible with your team of project-finance risk experts for steering the risk aspects of the business. This role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, attention to detail and deep expertise in project finance markets as well as risk mitigations techniques.

What part will you play?

  • You are responsible for the underwriting of new business, the development, implementation and monitoring of all credit and asset portfolio strategies of the project finance business in Europe (excl. UK)

  • Hereby, you ensure an adequate risk/return profile of the portfolio by actively managing it.

  • You build and implement an efficient risk management system to provide optimal project and structured finance services. Also, you develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in support of SFS’ strategic plan.

  • You develop and implement appropriate methods, tools and processes for the risk assessment and management. You play a key role in driving the digital transformation.

  • As member of the PS-EA management team, you are responsible for the sustainable development of the business.

  • You represent SFS through participation in key external professional organizations (as appropriate) as well as in discussions and negotiations with business partners, trade associations and relevant governmental/regulatory bodies.

  • Furthermore, you lead as a 'role model' - ensuring effective people leadership, development and mentoring of talents, as well as ensuring a climate of open communication and fostering the sense of values and integrity.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • Long-term work experience and profound expertise in financial products, markets and the regulatory landscape.

  • Deep knowledge of SFS's and Siemens' businesses to understand product proposal, customer needs, Siemens internal communication, rules and decision processes.

  • University degree ideally in finance or banking. Additional qualifications such as an MBA or CFA are viewed positively.

  • M&A experience (valuation & transaction structuring).

  • Deep knowledge of the energy, industry and healthcare markets in various countries. Basic understanding of the technical features, operational requirements and thorough understanding of the value drivers of each investment project.

  • You are confident, energetic and capable of working with a wide variety of people.

  • Strong and proven leadership skills, ideally with track record in managing teams and ability to operate in a collaborative way.

  • You demonstrate sound judgement and business integrity. You are able to lead international teams and communicate efficiently in our international unit and externally.

  • Fluent English skills. German and/or other additional languages are a plus.
