Heat Plant Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heat Plant Operator to manage and maintain our gas and oil-fired boiler plant. This role requires physical endurance, technical expertise, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain gas and oil-fired boiler plant and related equipment.

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on boilers and associated machinery.

  • Utilize hand and power tools, ladders, scaffolds, and Heating Plant instrumentation and testing equipment.

  • Comprehend and follow oral and written instructions and provide clear instructions to others.

  • Work in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold, noise, dust, heights, and confined spaces.

  • Wear necessary protective clothing and equipment, including filter masks and respirators when required.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical skills related to boiler operation and maintenance.

  • More than six (6) years of verified experience in operation and maintenance of gas and/or oil-fired boiler plants.

  • Ability to stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel for extended periods of time.

  • Capacity to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Heating Plant instrumentation and testing equipment.

  • Ability to work effectively under various environmental conditions.

  • Strong communication skills to receive and provide instructions.

Work Environment

This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Expect exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, dust, and confined spaces. Safety is a priority, and protective clothing and equipment will be provided. This role demands physical exertion and the ability to perform various manual tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65915.20 - $65915.20
