Morgan Stanley Java Fullstack Developer - Vice President - ETS (Enterprise Tech & Services) Profile Description We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Title) Fullstack Engineer. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience at the senior level designing, building, and integrating systems in a multi-tier environment. Strong Java and Web development experience is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Responsibilities will include working with business stakeholders to fulfil the requirements and supporting solutions using JavaScript, Java, RDBMS. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be eager to create robust, well-tested solutions that satisfy real business problems, possess good problem-solving skills, and take ownership of items independently while tracking to closure. The candidate will liaise with global teams to understand requirements, develop high quality code, and deliver projects. ETS (Enterprise Tech & Services) Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for Morgan Stanley supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of Morgan Stanley’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of employees. Application and end user functions are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database functions. Workforce Technology & Services Workforce Technology and Services (WTS) provides the Firm’s workforce with technology, service and capabilities required to meet the needs of colleagues, partners and clients. The organization is responsible for activities to enable our workforce, drive acquisition technology platform integration and the Firm's electronic trading infrastructure. This includes support and delivery of: integrated productivity and collaboration solutions for the Firm's end users, mobile and desktop endpoints, the Firms' audiovisual, broadcast and conferencing capabilities, workplace technology in support of corporate service offerings, new acquisition and merger technology infrastructure integration and business-aligned infrastructure solutions for the Firm's electronic trading platform. Technical Specialist This is a Vice President position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage. Read on… What you’ll do in the role: • Responsible for the hands-on design and development of core Java applications • Mentor less experienced team members, lead by example, and produce high quality code, while adhering to development best practices. • Ensure developed code is in alignment with system architecture and integration design standards of the enterprise framework. • Analyze user requirements, envision system features and functionality. • Interface with global team of developers and business users. • Produce proof of concept in the new areas of development. • Participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture process. • Investigate production issues. • Support continuous improvement. • Participate in all aspects of SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and deployment) • Actively contribute and participate in design and architecture discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile Sprint planning sessions.

What you’ll bring to the role: • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role using Core Java, Java Restful APIs, Gradle/Maven, Spring, Spring Boot, IBM MQ Series, and related frameworks. • 3 years of architecting technical solutions • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams that fall across different time zones. • Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development • Solid understanding and experience with Microservices architecture and design • Solid understanding and experience with building experiences in React or Angular • Experience in building server-side applications using J2EE Technologies. • Experience in building Public Cloud or Cloud ready applications. • Experience with building highly scalable, secure, and fault tolerant microservices in Kubernetes. • Familiar with OAuth2/OIDC • Proficient with database technologies (preferably PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or DB2), including modelling and performance tuning. • Highly proficient working in Linux environments. • Experience building solutions in Python / Perl and Unix shell such as Bash. • Experience with ETL (Informatica is a plus) • Experience with DevOps • Experience with developing unit test cases in JUnit, and experience with Test Driven Development or behaviour Driven Development is a plus. • Competency with source control (preferably Git) and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins. • Practiced understanding of Agile development methodologies & understanding of DevOps Integration • Strong familiarity with Agile software/tools (e.g., JIRA, etc.). • The ability to write reusable, optimized, maintainable code that is well documented and follows industry-standard best practices. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and presentation skills: ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, across all stakeholder groups and with staff from junior to senior levels.
