Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Multiple Locations, Mexico
As a Senior Program Manager in the Device Services team, you will join us in shaping the future of repairable devices and service offerings. You will be part of the Device Repair Operations (DRO) team within Device Services and lead cross-functional teams in the development of repair infrastructure supporting NPI programs such as Surface and Xbox. This will require close collaboration across teams encompassing development, NPI, operations, supply chain, finance, IT, and more.

This position is based in Ciudad Juarez, in a Partner Factory with an extended Microsoft team.
Responsibilities
Program Management
Drives development operations including managing and executing development builds, driving factory, and supply chain readiness in preparation for high volume manufacturing (e.g., Surface Mount Technology, device assembly, test, and repair).
Drives supply base strategy and execution (in cooperation with supply base), including defining supply base architecture, managing supply base risk, planning for dimensions of scale (e.g., geography, organization), driving to fulfill specific customer supply base and supply chain requirements, and leading execution of manufacturing plans to meet government regulations (e.g., Trade Act Assistance, location, content, and certification).
Drives timely launch communications including broad organizational communications, executive progress updates, and cross-functional alignment via product launch review.
Drives development operations including managing and executing development builds, driving factory, and supply chain readiness in preparation for high volume manufacturing (e.g., Surface Mount Technology, device assembly, test, and repair).
Drives initiatives a toward strategic transformation of New Product Introduction build sites with original design manufacturers and system integrators.
Drives the organization through the launch of new products from One Design to many products and Customers.
Establishes an effective program infrastructure incorporating the product technical requirements, program milestones, cross-functional goals, and organizational interdependencies ensuring stakeholder alignment.
Drives collaborative efforts with teams both within and outside of manufacturing, including external suppliers.
Drives schedule development and management of New Product Introduction.
Identifies and develops milestone scope, identifies co-dependencies (e.g., certifications), conducts mitigation planning, and identifies critical owners and responsibility assignments.
Identifies and applies metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for development and management of new products.
Drives contributions to end game planning, aligning cross functional activities to launch goals incorporating Software Quality and Hardware Reliability timing.
Drives ramp planning including build and capacity planning, yield planning and aligning assumptions, conducts Continuity of Supply (COS) assessments, assesses and mitigating program risks, and leads launch scenario planning.
Drives financial impact planning, including creating alignment of finance impacting plan assumptions, conducting capital planning (e.g., plant, equipment, test, and repair) and Strategic Investment Review (SIR) to align the organization on the overall product investment.
Drives material risk buy planning and technical risk assessment, and capacity and asset transition planning. Drives Early Warning Program (EWP) to identify and resolve field quality issues through launch.
Conducts risk management efforts in new product introduction, including launch risk management as well as managing into production.
Conducts risk identification and assessment, scenario planning, and the mitigation of risks or recovery from risks.
Communicates risk management efforts and actions.
Creates new process technology development.
Product Launch
Drives the development, planning, and execution of a holistic cross-functional product launch strategy.
Drives efforts in product launch from product inception, including concurrent engineering, through hand-off to the sustaining business.
Drives product realization for high-volume enterprise and consumer product or electronic devices.
Holds accountability for portions of work to deliver best-in-class supply architecture solutions while achieving launch goals for product across volume, schedule, cost, quality and business objectives.
Technical Program Leadership
Provides technical leadership across New Product Introduction efforts.
Prioritizes resources to critical issues (e.g., product and process).
Identifies technical program risks and build mitigation plans, and proactively creates innovative engineering and process solutions to technical challenges.
Drives issue resolution through technical problem solving (e.g., software, quality, and hardware engineering).
Provides technical leadership across New Product Introduction efforts.
Prioritizes resources to critical issues (e.g., product and process).
Identifies technical program risks and builds mitigation plans, and proactively creates innovative engineering and process solutions to technical challenges.
Drives issue resolution through technical problem solving (e.g., software, quality, and hardware engineering).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field AND 4+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development, or consumer electronics
OR equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations or a related area.
Extensive experience in project management, preferably in consumer electronics or related fields.
Proven record of leading teams and delivering successful product launches.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management,OR related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development,OR consumer electronics
OR Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management,OR related field AND 8+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development,OR consumer electronics

Experience with Microsoft hardware products or similar high-volume consumer electronics.
Experience with the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to field service enablement.
Experience in hardware service business, implementation of repair and spare parts.
