In this role, you will be responsible for advanced platform-level validation of next-generation Lightmatter products. You will be expected to develop product-specific platform validation test plans for products from development to high-volume manufacturing. It also involves engaging with silicon design, digital verification, software, packaging, photonics, and system platform engineering teams to influence the definition of the product and to leverage the capabilities of the ecosystem from a platform validation perspective. You will be developing validation capabilities, tools, and platform-focused tests in Lightmatter. Part of the role is expected to support customer deployment and related technical issues.
Responsibilities:
Own development of overall platform-level post-silicon validation strategies and plans for our highly integrated photonics-based AI platform, our photonics chiplet communication fabric and laser module.
Define validation plan for platform-level qualification and high-volume manufacturing.
Partner and influence design teams (hardware, software) during pre-silicon targets to ensure Pre-Si simulation meets specifications and milestone criteria. As needed, work with the design team to include validation hooks, telemetry sensors etc on Si, test vehicles and reference systems for comprehensive post-Si validation and monitoring.
Setting up photonic validation capabilities, automation, and executing validation in Lightmatter facilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering/Science, or other related fields
8 years of industry experience in photonics and semiconductor products such as CPU, GPU, networking solutions
At least 5 years of exposure to silicon and photonic system validation
3 - 5 years of validation content and script development using Python or C++
Had hands-on post-silicon chip, system power-on, and photonic validation experience.
Ability to debug and triage photonic chip and system issues
Must be able to travel to our Palo Alto Lab frequently
Preferred Qualifications
A good understanding of advanced packaging (e.g: 2.5D, 3D packaging), photonic design, laser modules
A deep understanding of photonics, laser design, and architecture
Experience in laser and photonics architecture and validation

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, including all US locations, is $140,000 to 190,000. Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
