Google Software Engineer III, Discover Metrics Platform, Search in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in Python, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.

  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

  • Experience with the Search or Discover infrastructure full-stack (PIPS, SR, GWS, Muppet, Laelaps, Footprints, Kansas, Logs, etc.).

  • Experience with Search evaluations such as Crust, Human Eval, or SideBySide.

  • Experience in experimental design.

  • Experience with production of large scale distributed systems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Write product or system development code.

  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

  • Build new infrastructure intra-day LE metrics.

  • Optimize (e.g., flume pipeline, borg resources, F1 query executions), expand, and monitor the data generation for the framework for LE analysis.
