Google Product Manager II, Play business generation Ecosystem in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.

  • 3 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, and consulting).

  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.

  • Experience in app-based digital marketing strategies.

  • Experience in the mobile app ecosystem.

  • Experience in strategy-heavy product roles.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will be working at the intersection of digital, commerce, and payments with a charter to help our android developers grow their businesses across multiple channels.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Define product roadmaps by operationalizing strategy.

  • Partner with engineering to define future goal, strategy, and roadmap for Play’s business generation platform, with a focus on expanding app developer reach beyond the in-app experience.

  • Develop understanding of Play’s business generation platform constructs (orders, refunds, etc), Billing APIs/libraries, and payments integrations.

  • Work with both internal and external Android Developers to understand growth strategy and business models and incorporate into product expansion strategy.

  • Expert on how ecosystem incentives influence user purchasing and developer investments decisions with an aim to make Play the platform of choice for users and developers.
