US Tech Solutions Metal-organics Porous Material Lab Chemist in Mountain View, California
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Materials Chemist to join our growing team working on the development and characterization of porous materials.
You will play a key role in synthesizing, optimizing, and analyzing these materials for direct air carbon capture (DAC).
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment and contribute to cutting-edge projects with the potential for real-world impact.
Responsibilities:
Conduct synthesis and processing of various porous materials, including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent-organic frameworks (COFs), zeolites, silicas, metal oxides, porous polymers, and composites.
Perform characterization of materials using techniques like gas sorption, FTIR, TGA, NMR, XRD, and electron microscopy.
Assist with the development, optimization, formulation and manufacturing scale-up of novel materials for specific applications.
Contribute to the design and execution of experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
Stay current with the latest advancements in porous materials research and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
Collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Mandatory Skills:
Experience in laboratory settings and familiarity with basic chemical equipment and techniques.
Strong understanding of fundamental chemical principles and concepts.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and writing skills.
Proficient in Google Docs, Slides, and basic data analysis software.
Desired:
Experience with specific characterization techniques like gas sorption, XRD, or NMR is a plus.
Knowledge of porous materials and their applications is a plus but not required.
Education:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
