Works under the guidance of the Assistant VP of RC, overseeing the PBO Informatics Department and the Data Posting Unit to ensure optimal functionality of PBO systems and procedures. Maintains regular communication with the Assistant VP of RC regarding ongoing tasks and any potential obstacles. Responsible for overseeing vendor performance and working with PBO leaders and vendors to escalate and resolve issues promptly. Accountable for the efficiency of all systems within the PBO department. Ensures prompt resolution of system issues to minimize disruptions in workflow. Encourages proactive problem-solving among employees and exercises discretion and independent judgment in project management, system design, and maintenance. Spearheads new system implementations, encompassing scope development, testing, training, implementation, and monitoring. This role necessitates prior supervisory experience and comprehensive knowledge in health care billing/collections, as well as proficiency in IS networking, desktop services, and general programming.

  • Lead and direct comprehensive revenue cycle-wide processes, including but not limited to denials & write-off prevention, vendor management, data insights, and systems applications support teams

  • Participate in revenue cycle management meetings/forums to help drive Vendor Management operational and technical initiatives

  • Maintain system-wide accountability for adherence to vendor sourcing, evaluation, and onboarding efforts

  • Collaborates closely with the Information Services Department and other departments to plan, implement, and maintain systems and processes. Ensures seamless integration of PBO systems with other systems.

  • Defines the scope for implementing new systems or processes.Plans, coordinates, tests, and provides appropriate staff training for all system upgrades.Configures all systems, software, and hardware to optimize cash collections, billing, and collections processes.

  • Provides training and support to staff members on new vendor products, processes, and systems to ensure effective utilization and maximize efficiency.Serves as the primary point of contact for addressing any issues or concerns related to vendor performance, system functionality, or billing processes, and working with vendors to resolve issues promptly.

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of all vendor billing systems, ensuring timely transmission of interfaces and downloads to and from LLUH. Ensures smooth and efficient system functioning.

  • Ensures accurate and timely balancing and data reconciliation for systems and processes requiring it, maintaining data integrity.

  • Generates system reports promptly for relevant staff and ensures their accurate utilization to enhance day-to-day operations.

  • Maintains and optimizes billing and collection hardware to minimize user downtime.Ensures timely completion of IT database service requests.

  • Develops and analyzes reports to support the success of billing and collection payer units.Analyzes PBO performance data and provides insights regarding revenue trends, reimbursement rates, and areas for optimization.

  • Schedules and facilitates weekly meetings with IT System Administrators and Managers to communicate updates, address issues, and discuss ongoing work.

  • Ensures implementation of training plans and conducts staff training in the proper utilization of software and hardware as directed by management.

  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge all PBO system software supporting operations.

  • Ensures accurate posting of payments and adjustments and resolves posting issues promptly.

  • Attends all internal and external meetings relevant to the role.

  • Conducts employee forums to address concerns and gather feedback.

  • Ensures adequate staffing levels in assigned areas.

  • Conducts interviews and approves employee applicants.

  • Reviews employee performance evaluations with managers and supervisors to maintain consistency within the department.Performs other duties as necessary.

The estimated salary range for this job is $130,000 - $170,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
