This role can be based in any of our US office locations or wherever the candidate chosen for hire currently resides. The Global Security & Safety team is responsible for protecting LinkedIn’s people, business operations, brand, and facilities. We are focused on building scalable programs that support LinkedIn’s culture by enabling our people to do their best work while feeling safe and cared for, wherever they are located.

As part of our efforts to deliver on this vision, we have created a new role to lead our Data Center Security & Safety programs. The Director of Data Center Security & Safety will serve as a member of the GS&S Leadership team, reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Global Security & Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and direct a scalable data center security and safety program to address identified risks related to collocated and single occupancy data centers.

  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures and operational requirements related to asset protection, access management, security system design & monitoring, alarm response, data hall screening, and incident response.

  • Develop and maintain a health & safety program designed to meet or exceed regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices for worker safety within a data center environment.

  • Effectively collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to ensure program elements are aligned with our goals of providing a secure and safe environment while enabling the business to operate at the speed and efficiency needed to achieve defined goals.

  • Partner with third party vendors to develop and oversee the implementation of the security & safety programs at the site level.

  • Develop and implement physical design standards, project management, maintenance performance standards, and commissioning requirements to align with industry best practices for data center environments.

  • Manage the program annual operating budget within company guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in the corporate security function or a closely related field

  • 5+ years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building, implementing and maintaining security and safety programs within a data center environment

  • Proven ability to lead a globally dispersed team from a diverse set of backgrounds in delivering a unified vision.

  • Established history of cross functional partnership with: Legal, Workplace, C-Suite, People / HR, Finance, Info Sec, Trust and Safety.

  • Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations governing security operations globally.

  • Working knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulatory requirements.

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certification preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage vendor/supplier relationships preferably on a global level.

The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $244,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
