The Chief AI Officer (CAIO) will report directly into the SVP of Engineering and will be responsible for the development and execution of the company's AI strategy. This includes overseeing AI research, implementation, and ensuring the alignment of AI initiatives with overall business objectives. The CAIO will collaborate with other senior leaders to identify opportunities where AI can provide competitive advantages, enhance customer experiences, and optimize operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with the company's goals and vision.

Lead AI research and development efforts to create innovative products and solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI applications and ensure their successful implementation.

Ensure ethical considerations and compliance with regulations in all AI initiatives.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and related technologies and provide strategic recommendations to the executive team.

Build and manage a high-performing AI team, including data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI researchers

Sustain a strong culture of innovation and craftsmanship.

Be a thought leader in the Data & AI space internally and externally.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

B.A./B.S. degree or higher, or equivalent experience.

10+ years of software engineering management

Proven experience (10+ years) in AI, data science, or machine learning

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, Statistics or related fields

Track record of leading successful AI initiatives

Experience leading high-impact, cross-company initiatives

Established track record of excellence in relevant research areas

Experience attracting, retaining, and developing AI engineers and Data Scientists throughout the industry

Excellent communication and presentation skills

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $298,000 to $488,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
