Requisition Summary The Engineering Specialist - Vehicle Operations Trainer II will assist in maintaining all aspects of DOT CDL training and compliance for class A CDL drivers at the PACCAR Technical Center. Provides training and support for shop safety, forklift and track operations. The Vehicle Operations Trainer II will also support testing and developmental activities associated with Class 5 though Class 8 vehicles. The PACCAR Technical Center is celebrating its 40th year of providing engineering excellence to the PACCAR truck, powertrain, and winch divisions through innovative product development and testing. Located in the beautiful Skagit Valley, about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington, PTC's world-class engineering, simulation and validation facility is equipped with state-of-the-art product development and validation capabilities and staffed with industry leading experts in powertrain and vehicle development. The PACCAR Technical Center also partners with government agencies and academic institutions to evaluate future vehicle technologies. Job Functions / Responsibilities * Works closely with the Vehicle Operations Trainer to provide training for vehicle operations activities * Coordinates with managers, engineers, technicians and drivers to assure requests and schedules are achieved * Identifies and leads improvement opportunities while providing training for track use, shop safety and forklift driver requirements while maintaining appropriate records * Plans, schedules and tracks status of trainees and established test drivers * Assists Vehicle operations trainer with CDL and Hours of Service requirements as needed * Flexibility, initiative and the willingness to respond to shifting time and project demands * Maintain the highest level of work area cleanliness and organization * Perform duties safely and efficiently Qualifications & Skills * Minimum two years of training, fleet management and/or dispatch experience * Valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card with clean driving record * Ability to acquire Forklift Trainer Certification * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * High attention to detail and excellent organization skills * Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office software proficiency * Must be self-directed with the ability to manage personal workload * Ability to travel up to 15% including international travel Education * High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's Degree preferred PACCAR Benefits As a U.S. PACCAR employee, you have a full range of benefit options including: * 401k with up to a 5% company match * Fully funded pension plan that provides monthly benefits after retirement * Comprehensive paid time off - minimum of 10 paid vacation days (additional days are provided with additional seniority/years of service), 12 paid holidays, and sick time * Tuition reimbursement for continued education * Medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family * Flexible spending accounts
