The Freedom Center RN/LPN SUD Nurse- The Freedom Center in Mount Vernon, Ohio

Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is seeking an LPN or RN to join our team full-time as a SUD (substance use disorder) Community Nurse.  This is an office and community-based position that requires light travel to community sites in Licking County.  This position provides a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous PTO package, Health/Dental/Vision insurance, and a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer contribution.  Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is a Federal Loan Forgiveness Participant.

Duties:

  • Provide health education, overdose and naloxone administration training, infectious disease screening, and medical treatment referral in community-based settings for individuals with OUD/SUD. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members and providers to deliver care to clients. 
  • Distribute naloxone kit, safe sex supplies, and fentanyl test strips to clients with OUD/SUD.
  • Provide rapid HIV, Hepatitis C, and pregnancy testing to clients with OUD/SUD. 
  • Provide medical care for injection site wound evaluation and refer them for medical treatment and vaccines.

     

To be qualified for this position, you will need a minimum of two years' experience as a Registered Nurse OR four years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Must be licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.  Experience with behavioral health, community health, prevention, substance use, or mental health highly desirable.
