As part of our Project Management team, what you do directly supports our mission; enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer! You will lead a team or people dedicated to this mission.

What will you do?

Lead a team of professionals within the Client Services Packaging Project Management department. The responsibilities of this position include establishing and meeting standards for the delivery, quality, cost, and safety of the Packaging Project Management and related services within the group. You will guide and mentor employees, interacting with clients, while encouraging an environment and culture of continuous improvement.

How will you get here?

Education: Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years professional experience including supervising staff (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Applies Good Documentation Principles in all areas of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision and mission.

  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Develops goals and objectives for direct reporting staff and provides coaching and mentoring, leading to successful results.

  • Communicates goals and objectives as well as performance indicators through consistent, one-on-one communication and ongoing performance reviews.

  • Evaluates customer clinical research packaging requirements in order to guide and mentor project management team.

  • Shares performance information to other first line managers to ensure overall success of Clinical Services.

  • Initiates the involvement of the appropriate departments and maintains continuous communication with those departments for internal process improvements as well as for specific projects.

  • Takes ownership for high profile, sophisticated, global projects and customers.

  • Supervises work activities of project management teams to ensure all parties are providing outstanding customer service and are operating within Thermo Fisher’s standard operating procedures as well as cGMPs.

  • Hosts customer visits, conference calls, and meetings in line with new and existing business and/or Master Services Agreements.

  • Reviews and finalizes project quotations and organizes complete sample packets for customers when required.

  • Assists in performing investigations and resolves conflict both internally and externally.

  • Develops and tracks departmental metrics, leading to process improvement.

  • Uses Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methods and tools to improve processes.

  • Organizes and/or provides training to the project management team Department on all internal systems, clinical supplies development and standard operating procedures.

  • Responsible for the development and mentoring of project management team members.

  • Ensures accurate, final billing information is consistently provided to the Accounting department by project teams.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Requires supervision, management or equivalent leadership experience.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Possesses the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

  • Proficiency in skills required to read, understand, and enforce to the SOPs and policies of a GMP environment.

Physical Requirements

Position is administrative, is positioned in an office environment and requires standing, bending, reaching, walking, and talking.
