Robert Half Staff Accountant in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The candidate will be primarily responsible for managing our Heavy Equipment Rental Division and sister transport company. This role is vital in maintaining company databases and ensuring the smooth operation of various financial systems.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the Heavy Equipment Rental Division, including the execution of rental agreements and invoices.
• Conduct thorough background checks and manage Notices to Owner (NTOs).
• Handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for both the Rental Division and sister transport company.
• Maintain the Samsara GPS system and ensure its efficient operation.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and statements.
• Manage the company databases, focusing particularly on inventory maintenance.
• Handle bank and credit card reconciliations for the sister transport company.
• Monitor the company's credit, fuel, and lodging card programs, ensuring they are used appropriately and efficiently.
• Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager as needed. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role
• Proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage
• Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
