Position Summary:

The Department of Teacher and Special Education at Central Michigan University invites applications for a fixed-term faculty appointment effective August 2024.

Fixed-term faculty are generally expected to teach four courses per semester. Courses may be face-to-face or online and at the undergraduate or graduate level. Fixed-Term Faculty may also: attend regular, relevant committee meetings; support committee work; engage in assessment of learning activities; help develop and promote CMU's TSE course offerings; and strengthen partnerships on and off campus.

This position is a one-year appointment. 

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a Master's in Education with an emphasis in reading/literacy studies;and have completed at least three years of successful teaching at the PK-12 school level. • Candidates should have specialized knowledge in one of the following areas: elementary literacy instruction and assessment; literacy development; integrated language arts; and/or disciplinary literacy/literacy in the content areas. • Candidates must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:
