Position Summary:

The Communication Area of the School of Communication, Journalism, and Media seeks an Assistant Professor of Communication with expertise related to any of the following areas: (a) communication for social justice or climate justice; (b) communication for social activism or social movements; © communication for social change; or (d) health communication campaigns.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Communication (must be completed no later than August, 2024). • Previous college teaching experience in communication courses. • Ability to teach courses related to change campaigns (e.g., health communication campaigns, social change campaigns, organizational change campaigns, labor organizing, or social movements) • Active research agenda related to change campaigns (e.g., health communication campaigns, social change campaigns, organizational change campaigns, labor organizing, or social movements) • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience studying mediated communication campaigns (e.g., digital activism or multimedia change campaigns). • Experience mentoring or teaching graduate students.
