Job Description:

The Technician I-Manufacturing (SMT Operator) is responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). The operator will ensure the efficient and accurate placement of surface mount components according to engineering specifications and quality standards. There is no experience necessary, if you are tech savvy and looking for a career to put it to work, this could be the career for you!

Key Responsibilities: Operate SMT machinery including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, and inspection equipment. Load programs, set up machines, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine performance. Monitor production processes, inspect finished products, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Follow assembly instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate component placement and soldering. Handle and store electronic components and materials according to industry best practices and safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards at all times.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics or related field preferred but not a requirement. Previous experience working in electronics manufacturing or a similar production environment is preferred but not required. (Willing to train individuals with no prior experience).

Requirements/Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and quality with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues. Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Basic computer skills for data entry and machine operation. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines. Ability to work on 1s shift (7am-3:30pm) to receive training for up to 6 months before moving to a 2nd shift role (3:00pm-11:30pm).
