This role also maintains, installs, rebuilds, and repairs equipment per specifications and required electrical codes personally or through subordinates. They would also troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, PLC's, controllers, lighting controls, and electrical motors in a food processing environment along with general mechanical and maintenance duties. Key Responsibilities: Serves as electrical master of record; obtains electrical permits and coordinates inspections as required; supports and trains other employees as required for the Trident Seafoods, MN location. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Mechanic and PLC Programmer, to diagnose malfunctions. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Inspects electrical systems. Understands and is able to implement safe working procedures. Maintains cost control for equipment and supplies for budget. Stays current on electrical codes and OSHA regulations. Additional Responsibilities: Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings. Minimum Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Must have State of Minnesota Master Electrician Class A license. Proficient in reading construction drawings, electrical specifications, and one-line diagrams. Ability to self-direct, troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes. Preferred Qualifications: HAZWOPER and/or Emergency Response training preferred. One year of PLC and Controls experience One year certificate in maintenance related field from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of industrial mechanical experience Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee moves objects: regularly up to 5 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near/close vision, distant vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors of electrical wires or components.
