Position Summary

Big Bend Community College (BBCC), nestled in the heart of the vibrant and culturally rich communities of Central Washington's Columbia Basin, is excited to invite applications for the position of Athletic Director. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the future of BBCC's intercollegiate athletic programs. As the Athletic Director, you will be at the forefront of planning, organizing, evaluating, and supervising athletic programs and support services, all while building strong connections with the college and the surrounding community.

In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in fundraising efforts, community outreach, and ensuring that the needs of our student-athletes are met through collaboration with various departments and individuals across the college. Reporting directly to the VP of Learning & Student Success, you'll be instrumental in driving the athletic program's success.

Essential Job Duties

Primary essential responsibilities include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Provide strategic vision and direction for athletics at BBCC, including the creation and publication of long-term and short-term plans and objectives.

Recruit, select, orient, supervise and evaluate coaching staff to ensure that each program is executed in compliance with state and federal regulations, BBCC policies and procedures, the North West Athletic Conference (NWAC), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for wrestling.   

Supervise scheduling of all athletic contests and practices.  This includes oversight for travel arrangements, coordination of officials, providing supervision at all home athletic events, assisting visiting teams, and coordinating event safety.

Send authorization of grant-in-aid and on campus athletic employment awards to the financial aid office.  Ensure that an annual report of grant-in-aid awarded to each athl
