The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. Job Description
As a Labor Relations Partner , you will be responsible for managing Labor Relations functions relative to UAW contract administration and negotiations, grievance procedures, arbitration, and other matters related to the union represented production workforce. As a member of the Human Resources team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a positive people-centric culture. What you will do:
Interpret, explain and communicate organizational policies, procedures, and processes related to employee relations.
Advise management on changes to existing policies to ensure compliance with new or proposed regulations.
Consult with facility leadership on ways to build rapport, commitment to and retention of production workforce through professional development and an inclusive employee experience.
Represent the organization in general legal hearings on federal, state and local regulations pertaining to labor issues.
Participate in implementing and administering management-labor relations to help maintain positive relations with the union.
Assist in union contract negotiations, contract agreements, and other labor relations issues.
Establish and maintain credibility and productive working relationships with employees, teammates and business partners.
Use active listening, probing, and fact-finding techniques to surface and document specific problems and resolution alternatives.
Mediate and resolve conflicts in early stages with production workforce.
Provide guidance / counsel associated with internal investigations, routine problems, unique situations and disciplinary issues.
Practice positive collaboration and influence to convert difficult interactions into productive ones.
Provide and/or develop appropriate learning for Operations Leaders to promote competency, efficiency and quality work.
Contribute as a member on a variety of projects or teams supporting the business.
Education & Experience Required
The primary worksite will be in Morton, IL
Travel percentage for this role would be at 5%

What you will have:
Degree or equivalent experience desired

Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Industrial Relations: Knowledge of the concept, theories, and approaches of industrial relations; ability to maintain harmonious relations between employers and employees.
HR Legal and Regulatory Environment: Knowledge of HR legal and regulatory environment; ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.
