ManpowerGroup Engineering Hardware Technician in Morton, Illinois

Our client, an electronic component manufacturing company, is seeking an Engineering Hardware Technician to join their team. As an Engineering Hardware Technician, you will be part of the Production Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of electronic products and prototypes. The position spends the majority of the day in a testing lab environment. This is a contract position to start with ability to secure a direct hire role based on performance.

Job Title: Engineering Hardware Technician

Location: Morton, IL (Peoria area)

Pay: $30-$35/hr plus OT, benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency with electronic lab test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, environmental test chambers, etc.

  • Proficiency and skills in electronic assembly and modification such as soldering and working with surface mount technology components at Printed Circuit Board level.

  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks related to modification and fabrication of electrical or mechanical, systems.

  • Has knowledge of, and skills to perform, product validation testing that can include Environmental tests, Electrical Noise tests, Certification tests and Functional tests

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (WORD and EXCEL) to provide written product documentation that complies with department and corporate standards for creation, review, archival, and retention.

  • Fulfills project objectives as defined by Project Manager, Lead Engineer, or Functional Manager.

Requirements

  • ASET, or equivalent knowledge.

  • Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification

  • Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.

  • Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.

  • Uses manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
