Mitsubishi Chemical Gelest Division is seeking a, is seeking a Director of Finance to join a team committed to excellence, continuous improvement and driving sustainable business results. Director of Finance is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions of our specialty chemicals manufacturing unit. This position will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance our productivity and drive growth. The successful candidate will provide leadership in all areas of finance, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit. What You Will Do...

  • In collaboration with other senior management, and skilled and trusted departmental employees, develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential operation systems, information, and financial business of the business unit.

  • Lead and manage, and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial and managerial reporting.

  • Develop and execute financial strategy, aligning with the overall objectives of the business unit.

  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports, audits, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and procedures, maintaining the financial health of the organization.

  • Conduct profit and cost analyses, developing strategic financial forecast to support decision-making processes and audit.

  • Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial plans; review all formal financial procedures.

  • Plan and oversees capital assets projects, ensuring organizations goals are being met and appropriate internal approvals are secured.

  • Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the General Manager and key stakeholders on both financial and broad-based business issues related to the overall performance and growth of the business unit.

  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.

  • Monitor cash flow, investments, and asset management.

What You Will Have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; an MBA or CPA is highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.

  • Strong understanding of standard finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and, preferably, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Significant experience in financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, and financial strategy development.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software.

  • Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.

  • Generates creative solutions; Uses feedback to modify designs; Demonstrates attention to detail.

  • Works well in group problem solving situations.

  • Coordinates projects.

  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $250,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
