Insight Global Assistant Purchasing Manager in Morrisville, Pennsylvania

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Assistant Purchasing Manager for our large homebuilding client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of inventory products and the development of new supplier relationships to ensure our inventory needs are consistently met without leading to shortages or overstock situations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement of contracted inventory products, ensuring a smooth supply chain and logistics operation.

  • Manage rail logistics, including car placements and demurrage/transfer coordination between plants.

  • Prepare and confirm contracts, while also engaging in vendor sourcing and negotiation sessions.

  • Conduct non-inventory purchasing and maintain strict inventory control to ensure operating levels of supplies are consistent.

  • Analyze bids, review invoices, and identify future company needs to forward-buy products for savings.

  • Fulfill audit responsibilities and conduct routine supplier business reviews to evaluate performance and compliance.

  • Negotiate contracts with builder trades for new and existing community developments.

  • Read and interpret architectural plans and maintain budgets for community models, elevations, and options.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelors or associate's in business administration, Construction Management, or Supply Chain.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contracting and negotiating pricing of building materials (Pine, Lumber, Framing, Engineered Products)

  • Microsoft Suite - Hands-on residential construction experience

  • Supply Chain certification

  • Experience with EnterpriseOne (E1) and BuildPro software

  • Experience with Energy Star requirements, Green Building concepts, sustainability, etc. null
