Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Morrisville, North Carolina
Description We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to be a part of our Manufacturing team located in MORRISVILLE, North Carolina. The role is primarily responsible for handling all tasks related to payroll, including full cycle payroll processing for our employees. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the recruitment process and handle payroll for approximately 180 employees.
• Perform bi-weekly and monthly payroll duties, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of Paylocity software to streamline payroll activities.
• Manage generalist functions in addition to payroll duties.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in a quiet, focused working environment.
• Adhere to company policy of maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Resolve any payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees.
• Work closely with the HR manager, generalist, and VP of finance on payroll-related tasks.
• Be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and procedures. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in the manufacturing industry
• Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office (particularly Excel)
• Familiarity with labor legislation
• Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Able to meet tight deadlines and manage pressure
• Experience in full cycle payroll processing is essential
• Knowledge of payroll best practices and regulations
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus
