Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager will own the development of communication strategy and tactical execution in support of the Surgical Business Unit’s overall marketing goals. This role will be responsible for not only the performance of communications tactics and campaigns, but also the internal development processes, management of stakeholders across the organization, and development of the junior members/direct reports of the Marketing Communications department. To be successful in this role, a candidate must be experienced and comfortable with collateral production across marketing channels, partner closely with sales operations, and steward their team amidst a highly matrixed organization.

Principal Responsibilities

• Project Management: Run the day-to-day execution of initiatives supporting the Surgical marketing team, including managing the marketing communications team, improving internal processes, and developing solutions to support marketing objectives

• People Management: Lead the marketing communications group with clearly defined goals and objectives, developing the individuals to perform as a high performing team

• Campaign Development: Translate product marketing goals into defined marketing communications strategies, and execute through owned and paid media channels including the use of marketing automation tools, A/B testing, and analytics

• Campaign Management: Evaluate campaigns and tactics in-market for effectiveness and shift resources to maximize ROI

• Data Management: Proactively identify and improve data collection strategies to measure performance of marketing activities

• Digital Strategy: In collaboration with corporate communications team, lead the BU digital strategy and execution across various digital channels. In addition, lead the development & execution of e-commerce platform.

• Communication: Keep internal and external stakeholders aware of project status and any challenges, support internal communications initiatives, and maintain corporate communications standards

• Marcom Approval: Lead the Marcom Approval process to facilitate global approval of marketing claims, collateral materials, etc.

• Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and sales partners to align activities for maximum impact and cross-functional visibility

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.

• 8+ years managing marketing communications initiatives with at least 2 years leading communications strategy development

• Experience managing and training junior employees

• Project management and/or data analyst experience

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Proficiency with marketing automation software

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Proficiency with Google Marketing Platform

• Superior communication ability

• Superior project management ability

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

• Familiarity with biomedical device and/or healthcare industry a plus
