Summary:
Information Service Division's (ISD) Value Program, reporting to the Office of the CIO, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated IT Value Management Architect (IT-VMA). In this role, you will be responsible for driving, enabling, and supporting IT Governance, Benefits Realization, and Strategy efforts to ensure the effective delivery, management, and communication of IT-enabled value.
In partnership with leaders and teams, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring IT Governance structures, processes, and practices maximize value
Supporting the development, implementation, and adoption of ISD’s benefits realization function
Measuring financial and non-financial benefits of select IT projects and services
Supporting IT Strategy development and execution
Partnering with stakeholders to clearly communicate the impact of IT initiatives
Your contributions will play a vital role in leveraging IT to deliver greater value for UNC Health’s patients, providers, and teammates.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
1. IT Governance
Develops business cases, plans, and other governance materials to support value-based decisions
Manages the process for assessing, prioritizing, and dispositioning net-new IT investment requests
Leads efforts to continuously improve the IT Governance framework (structure, processes, tools, communication, etc.) to maximize value
2. IT Benefits Realization
Supports the development, implementation, and adoption of ISD’s benefits realization function
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, measure, and monitor financial and non-financial benefits and outcomes of select IT projects and services to ensure the expected benefits are delivered
Establishes tools and processes for reporting and tracking benefits realized throughout the project lifecycle
Conducts post-implementation reviews to assess actual benefits achieved and provide recommendations
3. IT Strategy
Partners with IT and business leaders to facilitate IT Strategy planning, development, and execution
Provides strategic-level analysis, guidance, and support for key IT initiatives
Communicates IT Strategy progress and performance at the individual, team, and organizational level
4. Stakeholder Engagement
Engages with leaders, executives, and teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Assists with the preparation of presentations, reports, and documents for executive audiences
Clearly articulates the value and impact of IT initiatives and services internally and externally
Other Information
Education Requirements:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in IT, business, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
No licensure or certification required
Professional Experience Requirements:
If a Bachelor's degree: Six (6) years of experience in benefits realization management, business analysis, process/systems/value engineering, value consulting, and/or other applicable roles
If an Associate's degree: Eight (8) years of experience in benefits realization management, business analysis, process/systems/value engineering, value consulting, and/or other applicable roles
If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of experience in benefits realization management, business analysis, process/systems/value engineering, value consulting, and/or other applicable roles
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Self-motivated, strategic thinker focused on maximizing IT-enabled business value
Exceptional analytic, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
Familiar with basic financial analysis techniques (TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, etc.)
Experience in developing plans, strategies, and goals
Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well in a team environment - listening, building rapport, and developing credibility as a trusted partner
Excellent writing and communication skills (e.g., creating slides, speaking, presenting, etc.)
Proven ability to proactively lead complex initiatives and manage multiple efforts simultaneously
